The Short devotion for today is about how Jesus spoke this word to me a few weeks ago when I was going through spiritual warfare with my flesh. God gave me direction on what to do for the purpose He has for me. Yet, battling with my flesh, I felt defeated, overwhelmed, and stressed. The reason behind it all is that I was doing things my way instead of the instruction of what Jesus told me to do in the first place.
After the power of fasting and praying, Jesus spoke to me and said that I needed to trust Him and not do things my way. Therefore, I also received revelation when I went to church the same week, and one of the worship songs was about the same scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And not lean on your own understanding.”
The following week, the Lord told me to do things His way and to have trust in Him!
When I put two and two together, I followed His instruction and obeyed Him. As a result, I received the fruit of what I was praying for.
When you trust God and do things His way instead of your own, your life gets easier and straightforward. Trusting His plans and listening to Him will save you so much frustration, then you will receive the blessing of what God promised for you. In scripture, Jesus tells us the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing (Matthew 26:41).
To do the will of God, we must decrease ourselves and allow God to move within our lives. We must rely on Him other than our own strength and knowledge.
Say this prayer with me: Thank you, Jesus, for allowing your living Word to be a testimony within itself. Allow me, Jesus, to trust in you only and for my flesh to decrease to be obedient to you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
I pray that this devotion has Blessed you abundantly and to know that we must trust in the Lord always and not by our own strength and knowledge.
